Background
The human GABRA5 GABR2 and GABRG2 genes encode the Cl--selective, ionotropic GABAA receptor-channel. GABAA receptors expressed in neurons are therapeutic targets in treatment of neurological and psychological disorders (e.g., cognitive impairment and schizophrenia).
