Quick Overview

Human Kv1.5 ion channel-expressing, division-arrested cells.

Background

The human KCNA5 gene encodes the pore-forming subunit of a voltage-gated potassium channel. Kv1.5 channels expressed in heart mediate the ultra-rapid delayed rectifier potassium current, IKur, and are potential therapeutic targets in treatment of atrial fibrillation.
