  • Activation and La3+ inhibition of TRPC1 current (lower trace, HEK/TRPC1) and insensitivity of untransfected parent cells (upper panel HEK/ ‑) to TRPC1-specific activation recorded by manual patch clamp. Cells held at -70 mV and activated by 1 µM OAG (1-oleoyl-2-acetyl-sn-glycerol), + 1 µM thasigargin.
  • Concentration-dependence of La3+ block. The IC50 value was 0.45 µM. Recorded by manual patch clamp.

Quick Overview

Human TRPC1 ion channel-expressing, stable replicating cell line.

Background

The human TRPC1 gene encodes the pore-forming subunit of TRPC1, a non-selective, cation-permeable channel expressed in the CNS, vascular endothelium and smooth muscle, lymphocytes and epithelia. TRPC1 channels are therapeutic targets in pulmonary hypertension, vascular inflammation, heart failure, and keratosis.
