  • ADORA3-mediated inhibition of intracellular cAMP accumulation. CHO-K1 cells that stably express the human adenosine A3 Receptor (green circles) and or untransfected CHO-K1 cells (black triangles) were exposed to the indicated concentrations of Cl-IB-MECA for 30 min at 37oC with 10 µM forskolin and 1 mM IBMX. Intracellular cAMP was assayed using the HitHunter kit (DiscoveRx).
  • Reference Compounds (agonist): 2-Cl-IB-MECA EC50: 98 nM

Quick Overview

Human A3 Adenosine Receptor-expressing GPCR (G protein-coupled receptor) stable, replicating cell line.

Background

Adenosine is a neuromodulator that is widely distributed in the central and peripheral nervous systems. Many of the actions of adenosine are mediated through G protein-coupled adenosine receptors. Adenosine receptors have been classified into A1, A2A, A2B, and A3 subtypes. Modulation of adenosine receptors by selective agonists and antagonists has potential for the treatment of various cardiovascular inflammatory and neurological diseases.
