  • ADORA1-mediated inhibition of intracellular cAMP accumulation of EZCells™ compared to non-irradiated cells. CHO-K1 cells that stably express the Human Adenosine A1 Receptor (black triangles) and similar cells that were irradiated (green squares) were exposed to the indicated concentrations of CPA for 30 min at 37oC with 10 µM forskolin and 1 mM IBMX. Intracellular cAMP was assayed using the HitHunter kit (DiscoveRx).

Quick Overview

Human A1 Adenosine Receptor-expressing GPCR (G protein-coupled receptor) division-arrested cells. Adenosine is a neuromodulator that is widely distributed in the central and peripheral nervous systems. Modulation of adenosine receptors by selective agonists and antagonists has potential for the treatment of various cardiovascular inflammatory and neurological diseases.

Background

Adenosine is a neuromodulator that is widely distributed in the central and peripheral nervous systems. Many of the actions of adenosine are mediated through G protein-coupled adenosine receptors. Adenosine receptors have been classified into A1, A2A, A2B, and A3 subtypes. Modulation of adenosine receptors by selective agonists and antagonists has potential for the treatment of various cardiovascular inflammatory and neurological diseases.
