  • Calcium dose-response for ADP stimulation of P2Y1 purinergic EZCells™ compared to non-irradiated cells. CHO-K1 cells that stably express the P2Y1 purinergic receptor (black triangles) and similar cells that were irradiated (green squares) were loaded with Fluo-4 NW, and then stimulated with the indicated concentrations of ADP. The resulting increase in intracellular calcium was measured on a FlexStation fluorescent plate reader. Data points represent the average +/- standard deviation of triplicate determinations.

Quick Overview

Human P2Y1 Purinergic Receptor-expressing GPCR (G protein-coupled receptor) division-arrested cells. P2Y1 couples preferentially to Gq/11 and is expressed in a variety of tissues including platelets, endothelia, smooth muscle, CNS, osteoblasts and B-islet cells.

Background

The human P2Y family of metabotropic receptors include eight accepted members, including P2Y1,2,4,6,11,12,13,14. P2Y2,4,11 are activated mainly by nucleoside triphosphates whereas P2Y1,6,12,13 are activated by nucleoside diphosphates. P2Y1 couples preferentially to Gq/11 and is expressed in a variety of tissues including platelets, endothelia, smooth muscle, CNS, osteoblasts and B-islet cells.
