ChanTest introduces new functional assays for five human GABAA receptors (α1-α5) validated on the IonWorks Barracuda automated electrophysiology platform. Assays are fully validated for screening or profiling in agonist, antagonist and positive allosteric modulator modes.
GABAA receptors expressed in neurons are sites of action for benzodiazepines, barbiturates, and neurosteroids; and therapeutic targets in treatment of several neurological disorders including seizures, anxiety, and insomnia.

Diazepam enhancement of
sensitivity to GABA activation
GABAA (α2β3γ2) cells were pretreated with diazepam for 2 minutes and then stimulated with GABA. For each concentration of diazepam the current amplitudes were normalized to the average current elicited with 100 μM GABA. |
